Una Mejor Vida es una película sobre un inmigrante ilegal y su hijo. Ellos vivían en Los Angeles, California. El padre trabajaba cortando los árboles muy altos y, eventualmente, él compró una camioneta porque su amigo se mudó a México. Mientras el padre estaba trabajando, su hijo iba a la escuela. Él no iba a una escuela muy buena porque la familia no tenía dinero suficiente. Su amigo quería ser miembro de una pandilla, pero el hijo no estaba seguro. En toda de la película la familia enfrentó muchos retos, porque el padre no tenía la licencia de conducir, el hijo peleó con un chico en la escuela y no le permitieron ir a escuela, entre otras cosas. Ellos necesitaban superar los retos y hacer un esfuerzo para quedarse en los Estados Unidos.

La película tenía una trama muy buena porque por mucho de la película me preocupé sobre el padre y su hijo. Me gusta esta parte porque él estaba orgulloso que él tenía una camioneta para su familia, también él sabe que a su hijo le gusta mucho el fútbol. Ellos van a los Estados Unidos para conseguir oportunidades de trabajo y cuando llegan es muy duro para quedarse aquí con su familia. En fin, yo pienso que Una Mejor Vida es una película con muchos retos y sueños.

On March 17th, all of the Spanish Four classes went to Bethel to watch A Better Life. After we watched the movie, we went to two restaurants. Some of us went to the Ecuadorian restaurant and others went to the Peruvian restaurant. Both restaurants had very good food.

A Better Life is a movie about an illegal immigrant, Carlos, and his son, Luís. The lived in Los Angeles, California. The father worked cutting palm trees, and eventually he saved up and bought a truck from his friend who was moving back to Mexico. While the father was working, his son was in school. Although, he did not go to a good school because his family did not have enough money. His friend wanted to join one of the gangs, but Luís was not sure. Throughout the whole movie, the family faces many challenges because, the father does not have a drivers license, the son got in a fight with another boy and was suspended from school, as an example. They needed to overcome challenges and make an effort if they wanted to stay in the United States.

The film had a very good plot, and for a lot of the movie I worried about the father and son. A part that I liked was when Carlos bought the truck and later bought a soccer jersey for his son. I liked this part because the father was proud that he had a truck for his family, and also that his son was very good at and liked soccer. On the other hand, the music in the movie was very good, it fit perfectly with the themes throughout the movie.

I recommend that everyone go and see A Better Life, because it is important to understand the challenges of illegal immigrants. Carlos and Luís went to the United States to find work opportunities and when they arrived it was very hard to stay in the United States with their family. Finally, I think that A Better Life is a movie with many challenges and dreams.
